Pierce Brosnan was cited for off-trail hiking in November around the Mammoth Terraces area of Yellowstone National Park.
Court documents he obtained CNN It states that the charges against the “007” actor are “travelling on foot in all thermal areas and within the Yellowstone Valley confined to trailheads… and violating closures and use limits,” which are listed as minor violations.
The “Mamma Mia” star, 70, was charged with violating travel restrictions near the thermal feature on Tuesday, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Wyoming.
Yellowstone's thermal zones have “thin, brittle crusts that can rest on top of scorching water,” according to Park location.
Park guests must use designated trails and trails to navigate around Yellowstone's thermal areas.
Other safety precautions include staying away from the water in hot springs as it can cause severe or fatal burns.
At least five people have been injured in Yellowstone's thermal areas in recent years.
A drunk Michigan man is also banned from the park — at least until his case is resolved — after he stumbled into a banned hot spring in August.
Another uninformed visitor illegally stuck her hand into a hot spring in June, which was captured on video.
Brosnan was reportedly in the area Filming parts of a Western movie Titled “Unholy Trinity,” which also stars Samuel L. Jackson.
He is scheduled to appear on January 23 in federal court in Mammoth Hot Springs, Wyoming.
The Post has contacted Brosnan's representatives for comment.
This appears to be the first time the Out-Laws actor has run afoul of the law.
Last week, a viral tweet that attempted to expose the appearance of Brosnan's wife, Kellie Shaye Smith, backfired when fans showed their support for the journalist and author's appearance.
