The 55-year-old Singer and Actor was hospitalized in April 2023 for an unknown reason. his daughter Corinne He said that he “suffered from medical complications,” but did not elaborate. In his video, Fox does not say why he was hospitalized, but credits his sister, Deidra Dixon and daughter, as well as “many great doctors” with “saving (his) life.”
“I went through something I thought I would never go through,” Foxx said in the video. “I know a lot of people have been waiting, you know, wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want to see me…with me running out of tubes and trying to see if I was going to finish.”
Foxx has also taken the time to debunk the rumors that have been circulating about his condition.
“By being quiet, sometimes things get out of control… Some people said I was blind, but as you can see the eyes work, the eyes work well. I said I’m crippled, not crippled, but I’m through — I went to hell and back,” Fox said, adding that “his road to recovery had some potholes, too.”
“But I’m coming back, and I’m able to work, so I want to thank the people who let me work,” Fox added, clearly getting emotional. “And I just want to say I love everyone and I love all the love I got.”
