Young and well-educated people are leaving the country

More than 2.6 million people immigrated to Germany last year. The Central Statistical Office has informed this. The largest bloc is made up of people fleeing the war in Ukraine. But with 1.1 million new arrivals, Ukrainians are not the majority. The rest are distributed in other countries – above all Syria, Afghanistan and Turkey. The Federal Bureau of Statistics announced that net grants were 1.4 million higher than ever before.

But 1.2 million people left Germany last year. That’s more than 200,000, up 20 percent from 2021. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the majority of German immigrants are men of prime working age – exactly 35.0 years on average. By comparison: the rest of the population was 45.9 years old on average. Ascending trend. The Federal Statistical Office does not provide any direct information on the education of immigrants. However, Switzerland, Austria and the United States are the most important countries – the former and the latter in particular are known for allowing immigration only to people who are well-trained and can prove they have a job.

More than 83,000 people with German citizenship emigrate rather than immigrate each year. According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, this net migration began as early as 2005. But the growth picked up in the last one year. The reserve grew from 64,000 to 83,000. So the number of Germans decreases – another reason why the traffic light wants to distribute German citizenship quickly and easily.

But the number of abortions in Germany is still rising. Between New Year’s Day and March 31 alone, 27,600 children died in the womb. This is 6.8 percent higher than in the first quarter of 2022. Even then there was an increase compared to the first quarter of 2021. According to the Federal Statistics Office, there is no data on the causes of abortion. Almost half of the women who had an abortion had never had a child before. According to the office, there were only four percent of cases of women who became pregnant for medical reasons for abortion or because of rape – the rest decided to terminate the pregnancy for reasons of (their) life planning. .
