An elderly woman reportedly stopped the mother of one of the children and asked to read her palm.

Pinto agreed, whereupon the street fortune teller told the young woman that she only had “a few days to live.”

The fortune teller then gave Pinto a piece of chocolate as a parting gift. “like [the candy] It was packed, it didn’t occur to her [that it could pose any danger]Cousin Christina told local media. “And when she was hungry, she decided to eat it.”

Given the patient’s pre-existing conditions, including gastritis and ulcers, the family did not initially suspect foul play but became suspicious after Pinto mentioned her encounter with the apparently clairvoyant woman.

“Because I kissed chocolate in the middle of the city. I ate it. After that I felt sick,” the deceased wrote before her death. “At that time, it did not even occur to me. “She was an old lady.”

The woman then accompanied her cousin to the Santa Casa de Misericordia Hospital, where her nose began bleeding upon arrival.

Despite the efforts of doctors, the patient died the next day, August 4.

“She vomited, her vision was a little blurry, her body was soft… it was a matter of hours,” said Bianca Christina, the victim’s cousin. “She came home, felt sick, the next day she recovered a little bit, and then felt sick again.”

[and] “It causes poisoning in Brazil because of its easy access, despite being regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply,” said Thalmani Goulart, head of the Chemistry and Toxicology Laboratory who analyzed her samples.

Unfortunately, the examination did not confirm that the candy was the source of Pinto poisoning, Globo 1 reported.

However, the family reported the palm reader to the authorities, who are still trying to identify the suspect.

Civil police have since registered her case as a “death to be clarified” and are currently awaiting forensic results so they can confirm speculation of murder.
