Trump was ahead in at least 13 of the 15 states that voted Tuesday, according to projections and partial results. It prevailed in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, and Virginia. With a narrow victory in Vermont, his in-party rival, Nikki Haley, only managed a victory that ultimately has a symbolic character.

Trump spoke about a “wonderful evening” with supporters at his private Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. His win was unprecedented: “It's huge,” Trump said. In his speech, he praised himself in his usual manner and praised his work as the President of the United States in the White House. At the same time, he has also called for the unity of his party. “We have a great Republican Party with tremendous talent. And we want unity, we will have unity, and that will happen very quickly,” Trump said.
Haley has yet to comment on the Super Tuesday results or whether she will continue to run for office in the coming weeks. Her surprise victory in Vermont was her second win in a Republican primary to date after a neck-and-neck race against Trump. Earlier, he had voted in Washington DC's Capital District last weekend.
On Super Tuesday morning, Halle said on Fox News that even though everyone wants her out of the race, she's not ready to quit just yet. But that happened before former President Trump was clearly victorious.
The one exception was Biden's victory
For Democrats, President Biden won the primaries on “Super Tuesday” in all states where voting took place. He won in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.
His only internal party defeat was in American Samoa, a small US territory in the South Pacific. There, the party announced, the 81-year-old was defeated by little-known candidate Jason Palmer by 40 to 51 votes. However, only six delegate votes were cast in the territory for the Democratic Nominating Convention.
Thanks to his “Super Tuesday” victories, Biden is already close to the necessary majority of delegates there. Against this background, he has already focused on the controversy with Trump. In a statement, Biden said he was “determined to destroy our democracy and strip people of their basic liberties.” Trump “will do or say anything to put himself in power.” Tuesday's primary election results will present the American people with a stark choice, Biden said: “Do we continue to move forward, or do we allow Donald Trump to drag us back into chaos, division and darkness? In office?”
In the United States, the next president will be elected on November 5. Based on the results of previous primaries, there's a lot to be said for a repeat 2020 showdown between Trump and Biden.
