The PS5 will really benefit from the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3

The work done by Belgian developer Larian Studios on the Xbox Series S version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will bring performance improvements to all platforms the RPG is available on, including PS5. The upgrades will arrive as part of the game’s fifth major patch, which is expected to be rolled out this week – more details will be shared later today as new features are confirmed.

Word of PS5’s performance improvements come from publishing director Michael Douse, who noted that they may be “the least exciting thing” in the game’s next update, so it looks like the patch will be very important. According to Douse, there are talks of employees at Larian Studios being proud that they have “finally” been able to implement some tweaks, fixes and changes. We’ll bring you all the details of the Baldur’s Gate 3 update as soon as they’re shared later today.

Those who have managed to access the RPG’s third chapter have reported technical issues during the conclusion of the narrative – during co-op play in particular – so these issues will hopefully be resolved with today’s update. Along with the welcome fixes from the optimization made in the Xbox Series S version, new features like a permadeath mode are expected to be added to the game. What else would you like to see patched in the game? Let us know in the comments below.
