The alleged real Martha of the reindeer denies stalking Piers Morgan

The woman believed to be the inspiration for Richard Gadd’s Netflix film Baby Reindeer has denied being a stalker.

Fiona Harvey, who is said to have inspired the character Martha the Serious Stalker, appeared on Piers Morgan’s YouTube talk show “Piers Morgan Uncensored” in a pre-recorded interview on Thursday evening UK time, where she told Morgan she was taking legal action and the truth would come out during the legal proceedings. .

“I didn’t write him the emails,” she told Morgan.

When Morgan asked who sent him the emails, she replied: “I think he might have made them up himself, I have no idea.”

She also described the situation as “obscene” and “horrible”, although she said she had not watched the show.

“Baby Reindeer,” which launched on Netflix last month and quickly rose to the top of the list of most popular shows, is a limited series from Clerkenwell Films. It is based on a live show by Gad in which he tells the true story of his attempts to transition from bartender to comedian – including how he ended up being stalked for six months by a customer and being sexually assaulted by a man in the entertainment industry. He hoped it would guide him.

Gad claimed to have changed enough details about his stalker, named Martha in the show and played by Jessica Gunning, to ensure she wouldn’t be recognized, but fans soon began combing online and identified a woman called Fiona Harvey as a possible candidate.

In the series, Martha was portrayed as a Scottish fantasist who claimed to be a high-ranking lawyer with impressive political connections but in real life was a pathetic figure convicted of stalking. Over the course of six months, Gad’s character, Donnie, sent thousands of emails as well as targeting his parents and assaulting his girlfriend.
