Illinois-based grocery company ALDI is cutting prices on hundreds of items this summer – NBC Chicago

Popular grocery store Aldi has announced it will cut prices on hundreds of items this summer to help customers fight “stubborn inflation.” A press release said.

According to the release, the Illinois-based grocer said the savings, totaling $100 million, will take place over Labor Day, with select items on sale through July 10.

“We don’t want food prices to keep people from gathering with friends and family or spending time outdoors this season,” Dave Rinaldo, ALDI’s U.S. president, said in the statement.

Many of the items ALDI plans to lower prices were “seasonal essentials,” including picnic and barbecue items, travel-ready snacks and healthy options. A partial list of over 250 items for sale can be found below:

  • Simply Nature: Organic Avocado Oil
  • Season’s pick: frozen blueberries
  • Simply Nature: Organic pinto/beans
  • Specially selected: French bread
  • Specially selected: macarons
  • Vitaliaev: Kombucha variety
  • Sims: Summer sausage
  • Store Pick: Cracker Bites
  • Simply Nature: Organic Granola Bars
  • Benton: Cookie Thins
  • Southern Orchard: Dried Cranberries, 6 oz
  • Southern Orchard: Sunflower Kernels, 16 oz
  • Southern Orchard: Dried Mediterranean apricots
  • USDA Choice Black Angus Sirloin Steak
  • Family chicken breast
  • Burman: Steak sauce
  • Season’s Choice: Frozen French Fries 32 oz
  • Park Street Deli: Pulled Pork/Boneless Chicken

ALDI, which has its U.S. headquarters in Batavia, Illinois, recently announced plans to add 800 new US grocery stories by 2028. The grocery store has it 217 locations in Illinoiswith dozens throughout Chicago and the suburbs, according to ALDI’s website.
