Sony upcoming flagship the Xperia XZ1 is expected to launch at this year’s edition of IFA to be held in Berlin, Germany. Now, leaked press renders of the handset have surfaced all over the web revealing the handset’s design and color options.
The latest leaked images show the front and back of the handset. And it appears the Xperia XZ1 retains the same omni-balance design we saw with earlier models of Sony’s flagship series. The handset shown in the images sports the same rectangular form factor found on past Xperia flagships.
Moving on, the left edge of the handset reveals the water-resistant covering, which also houses the SIM Card tray along with the microSD slot. On the right edge, volume rockers are placed on top of the edge while the Power button is placed somewhere around the middle. The dedicated camera shutter button is also housed below the Power button on the right edge.
The leaked images, however, shows that the placement of the rear camera module has undergone slight changes. As unlike the Xperia XZ where the camera module was placed vertically, it appears the upcoming Xperia Z1 will have its camera unit housed horizontally. Also, the back of the phone suggests that the handset will come with NFC capabilities as the logo is shown right next to the camera flash.
Last but not the least, the leak also suggests that the handset will be offered in choice of Black and Pink color variants.
All in all, the handset shown in the leaked renders scream of a Sony handset with its boxy form factor. The Xperia XZ1 and its compact sibling the Xperia Z1 ARE expected to be unveiled at IFA 2017 trade show in Berlin that starts September 1.
As per earlier leaks, both the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact are said to run the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor bundled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The main difference between the two would be the screen size. Also, popular tipster Roland Quandt @rquandt has also revealed the alleged prices of the aforementioned handsets. According to him, the Xperia XZ1 is expected to retail at £599 ($767 approx.), while the smaller Xperia XZ1 Compact is expected to carry a price tag of £599 ($639 approx.)
