Ryan Gosling, Matt Damon and more break down Kristen Wiig's SNL monologue to welcome her to the 5-Timers club

Kristen Wiig is back Saturday Night Live to host the show for the fifth time, which means she will be inducted into the five-timer club.

“I'm very happy to be back, and I'm very excited because it's my fifth time hosting the tournament, so I'm officially in the five-date club,” Wiig said at the beginning of her speech.

The Palm Royale star then took a moment to say hello to the band and explain that, as a former cast member, it was special to be part of the exclusive club. Paul Rudd appeared in the audience wearing his club jacket asking if he could see the script to be part of the sketch where you get the jacket.

“Oh! No, I'm sorry. I don't think we're doing one of those things,” Wiig said.

Rudd looked disappointed, and former writer Paula Pell appeared, acted as if she were an audience member and told Wiig they were “handing these in.” [jackets] For everyone like free maxi pads.

Matt Damon made a cameo, telling Wiig that he grew up watching it SNL. Wiig noted that Damon was wearing a jacket despite having only hosted twice.

“Yes, but Lorne [Michaels] The first time I hosted it was so good it counted for three people, Damon said. “And then, the second time, things weren't quite so good, but that only counts twice. But by my calculations, that's five kids.”

Wiig then turns to Michaels to ask if the jacket means anything anymore. the SNL The show's creator is among a host of former hosts – Fred Armisen, Jon Hamm, Will Forte and Martin Short – to wear the jacket despite not having hosted five times.

Forte told Wiig they hosted him SNL Five times together, which is why they all wore jackets.

“What's going on here? I mean I was really excited to be in the five-time club. Now it's like it's not that special,” Wiig said.

The group of men got together to sing and celebrate Wiig and Forte and pointed out that Ryan Gosling had just entered the group.

“Are you sure? I mean I haven't even hosted three times yet,” Gosling asked Michaels.

Then Gosling finally joined the rest and helped Wiig put on his five-time club jacket.
