Rumors suggest that an Xbox Achievements overhaul is coming this year

It has been said that the long-awaited rework of the Xbox Achievement system is on the horizon and will likely appear in 2024. In September, we reported on claims that the beloved rewards system would receive a major overhaul, with elements such as “Platinum”. Achievements will be introduced in the future – but so far no date has been given for these changes.

That was until recently, when Shpeshal Nick, during an episode of the XboxEra Podcast, commented on the impending update and suggested that changes might be coming this year.

Achievement unlocked: System repaired

For the longest time, the Xbox Achievement system has remained relatively unchanged. It's been around for nearly two decades, and for the most part, Xbox has taken an “if it ain't broke” approach to the system. However, there are (rumored) epic changes on the horizon, and According to Shabshal NickIt may not be long before we get a look at how the new system works:

What I'm hearing is that Xbox has almost finished overhauling its achievements, with changes to the achievements, and we should see them next year. When they say next year, I assume they're aware of the fact that it's New Year's Eve, so I think they mean 2024. But we should, at least, show that, because you know how sometimes they put things in beta and then it goes through different episodes.

It's an important part of Microsoft's roadmap, it seems. There are many things that Xbox offers Players demand itsuch as a diamond or platinum achievement for 100% completion, display of achievements in player profiles, a better tracking system for in-progress achievements, and a process for reporting failed or buggy achievements.
