OnePlus is only a few weeks away from revealing its next-generation OnePlus 6 flagship. The Chinese firm has been teasing the gadget for quite some time now, and lots of its hardware specifications have been confirmed. The official statements of OnePlus, coupled with many OnePlus 6 rumors and leaks, have left a little to the imagination. As per the fresh renders emerging out of China, the device will come in white, black, and blue color options.
In accordance with a report, OnePlus 6 renders showing the white, black and blue color models were uploaded on Weibo. The existing smartphones of OnePlus come in Slate Gray and Midnight Black colors. It means that the blue color may be the highlight of the current year’s flagship. The OnePlus 6 leaks even shed light on the phone’s design and features.
The images re-confirmed that OnePlus 6 will sport an edge-to-edge display with the top cutout. Almost every major Android vendor has copied the controversial notch that Apple introduced with the iPhone X, and OnePlus is not an exception. It already has confirmed the feature, and Pete Lau, the OnePlus CEO publicly has defended the idea of including the notch. OnePlus 6 would thankfully possess the option to hide the notch through software. Besides the small notch, there’s no bezel at the top of the display, though it yet has a slim bezel at the bottom. It was confirmed by the OnePlus 6 leaks that it will come with a 6-inch OLED display and an 18:9 aspect ratio.
The phone comes with a red Alert Slider on the side, like what was seen on OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition. Recently OnePlus teased on Twitter that the users would be able to “Slide to focus with the Alert Slider” on OnePlus 6. It means that the Slider may let users adjust the focus of the camera, though it is unclear if the feature could operate on the rear camera or the front camera or both. On the present OnePlus smartphones, the Alert Slider lets users to change the user profiles like Ring, Do Not Disturb, and Silent. On the back panel, users would notice a LED flash, a vertically-positioned dual camera system, the OnePlus logo, and a fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint scanner has a rectangular rather than a circular shape.
Pete Lau, OnePlus CEO, in a recent forum post said that OnePlus 6 will have up to 8GB RAM and will be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC. There also may be a 6GB RAM variant. The smartphone is expected to come in 256GB, 128GB, and 64GB storage options. It will have a 16-megapixel front camera, and a collaboration of 16MP and 20MP lenses on the back panel. The firm is expected to enhance the low-light performance with OnePlus 6. The phone likely would pack a large 3,450mAh battery that must last an entire day of normal usage. The upcoming flagship will run Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS on the top. In accordance with the OnePlus 6 leaks, the device will cost CNY 4,399 for the top-end 256GB variant, CNY 3,799 for 128GB version, and CNY 3,299 for the 64GB model.
