Compared to workers in other countries, Americans are known to be reluctant to take a lot of vacation time, either because their employer doesn’t offer many days of paid vacation or because workers feel they can’t pass up so many days without negative repercussions. The positive side of this coin is that American workers have become known for their work ethic WalletHub I wandered around to see which state is most famous rolling up its sleeves. The site looked at all 50 states across 10 metrics in two main categories: direct labor factors (everything from the average number of hours per workweek and the state’s employment rate, to the shares of workers who refuse vacation time), and indirect labor factors. Including average commuting times, average time spent on recreational activities, and the proportion of workers who hold more than one job. Here, the top and bottom 10 states:
