Freiburg, Vaduz or Costa Rica?

The position of Archbishop Conswein, longtime private secretary to Pope Benedict XVI. (1927-2022), is still unclear. A few weeks ago, Pope Francis decided “temporarily” (“per il momento”) that the 66-year-old should return to his home diocese of Freiburg.

He will then live in rented accommodation at the seminary, the archbishop has confirmed. Some observers take “temporary” as a sign that it can only be a stopgap.
