“Titan” is supposed to take five tourists to the Titanic wreck. But the submarine exploded, killing all on board. The debris has now been recovered.

Updated as of June 29, 2023, 6:35 am: Debris from the wrecked submarine has been brought ashore a week after the “Titan” went missing in the North Atlantic. The US Coast Guard announced on Wednesday evening (June 28) that “presumed human remains” were also recovered, which were “carefully preserved in the wreckage at the crash site”. An official analysis of the alleged remains by experts in the United States should follow.

“There is still much work to be done to unravel all the factors that led to the catastrophic loss of the Titan,” said Jason Neubauer of the US Coast Guard, who is leading the agency’s investigation. An investigation is necessary to prevent such incidents from happening again. Neubauer said the evidence “will provide important insights into the cause of this tragedy.”

First impressions after the explosion of the ill-fated submarine “Titan” – debris recovered

Video footage circulating on Twitter shows, among other things, how the Horizon Arctic ship reaches the southern part of the port. Earlier, the ship “Titan” searched for debris. In the course of the videos, you can also see how a crane on board the “Horizon Arctic” begins to transport the remains of the “Titan” onto trucks.

About ten parts were loaded, starting with the porthole. Also, a US Coast Guard vessel was docked near the southern end of the harbor. It is not clear whether the trucks with the wreckage went over this ship or elsewhere. However, a spokesperson for the salvage company was able to confirm to CBC News that the offshore operation has now been successfully completed. The US Coast Guard has begun collecting evidence under the sea.

Not only authorities from the United States and Canada, but also investigators from Great Britain and France are involved in the investigation of the disaster. To find out what exactly led to the “Titan” explosion, a detailed analysis of the debris is necessary. She can already provide information.

Fatal Titanic Voyage: The submarine “Titan” reportedly exploded on the day it sank

“The debris is consistent with a catastrophic loss of a hyperbaric chamber,” John Mager said at a press conference following the discovery of the debris. The US Coast Guard rear admiral also mentioned the submersible Odysseus, which found parts of the submarine in a challenging location in the Atlantic on Thursday (June 22).

Four days after the tragic start of the Titanic disaster, the US Coast Guard had to confirm the deaths of five passengers. However, experts believe that the submarine exploded on the day of landing. (He)
