Warning: iOS 17.3 Beta 2 crashes some iPhones

The second iOS 17.3 beta released by Apple today is causing major issues for some iPhone owners, so users who haven't yet installed the new software may want to hold off.


As reported on the MacRumors Forums, TwitterAnd Mastodonsome iPhone owners‌ who tried to update to iOS 17.3 beta 2 found that their devices were stuck in a boot loop with a blank black screen containing a frozen spinning wheel.

Restoring to previous iOS 17.3 or iOS 17.2.1 software seems to fix the issue, but users without a backup may have issues with the restore process.

Not all iPhone users‌ seem to be affected, as some iPhones that updated to iOS 17.3 beta 2 passed just fine.

Apple has not yet commented on this bug, but it is likely that the second beta version of iOS 17.3 will be withdrawn in the near future until the issue is addressed.
