Todd Howard confirms Fall 5 after Elder Scrolls 6, shares additional details on Starfield

In a video interview with IGNAnd the Bethesda’s Todd Howard revealed additional details about Starfield. He also pronounced “Fallout 5” and provided an idea of ​​when fans could expect to see him.

Speaking to Ryan McCaffrey, Howard confirmed that Fallout 5 will be the next game after The Elder Scrolls 6, which itself has entered pre-production:

“Yeah, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production, you know, we’re going to do Fallout 5 after that, so our list is full going forward for a while. We have some other projects to look at from time to time as well.”

Starfield’s main story spans 30-40 hours, or 20% larger than any Bethesda game to date. New Atlantis, one of the four major cities in Starfield and the capital of the United Colonies, is also the largest city Bethesda has ever established. To create the character, Howard explains that there are approximately 20 characters from backgrounds to choose from.

The game’s procedural galaxy features the most handcrafted content ever made by the studio. Featuring more than 1,000 planets that players can visit, Howard also explained that you can’t fly to each one seamlessly similar to No Man’s Sky, describing movement on Earth and playing in space as two separate experiences. In terms of space combat, Howard discusses how Dogfighting (which he describes as having a slower pace) takes cues from games like FTL and MechWarrior and assures players can steal the ships they’re riding on.
