The Egyptian government said that at least 120 trucks loaded with aid entered Gaza on Sunday.

Diaa Rashwan, head of the Egyptian government press office, said in a statement that trucks loaded with fuel and cooking gas headed towards northern Gaza in coordination with the United Nations and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

Rashwan said that the number of aid trucks will likely increase in the coming hours.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said in a statement that an aid convoy of 100 trucks was sent to Gaza City and the northern regions of the Strip carrying food, water, relief materials, first aid, and medicines.

An independent journalist working with CNN in Rafah, Egypt, also witnessed the continued entry of aid trucks into the Rafah border from the Egyptian side on Sunday.

An Egyptian border official told CNN that dozens of trucks that entered the crossing on Saturday were still being processed through the Israeli checkpoint as of Sunday afternoon local time, or were still unloading their cargo on the Gaza side of the border crossing.

The official added that about 129,000 liters of diesel and 80,000 liters of gas entered through the Rafah border crossing from the Egyptian side of the border.

Some background: While the Hamas hostage exchange with Palestinian prisoners and detainees was already completed on Sunday, Hamas postponed the exchange on Saturday due to a dispute largely centered around the issue of aid to Gaza.

Hamas said that Israel had not adhered to the terms of its agreement to provide aid to the besieged Strip, saying that “less than half” of the expected aid trucks had entered northern Gaza.
