When Queen Margrethe II (83) abdicates on January 14, 2024, the reign of her son, King Frederick X, will begin. Unlike in England, the coronation of King Charles III took place last May. The palace has now announced the approximate schedule on its website. The State Council meeting will be held at Christiansborg Palace on January 14 at 2 pm. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and new heir to the throne Prince Christian, 18, will also attend the appointment.
