This week’s fashion moments are set to showcase bold fashion — and more than make up for the lack of movie premieres (in light of the SAG-AFTRA strike) around the world. The MTV VMAs, for example, have produced many hits for major music stars. Selena Gomez dazzled in her romantic red Oscar de la Renta dress (with cut-out details), while Megan Thee Stallion glamorized Old Hollywood in her own way, wearing a sheer custom Brandon Blackwood column dress that revealed a trace of thong underneath.
At the Toronto Film Festival, a few actors received exemptions to promote their new films. Jessica Chastain dazzled in an embellished Armani Privé dress, while Dakota Johnson looked more funky in her Bode printed kaftan dress. At Kering’s annual women’s sponsorship dinner in New York, the glossy creations also had a moment: Zoë Kravitz chose a sleeveless white Saint Laurent dress that shimmered under the photographers’ lights, while Kim Kardashian presented a pink sequined Balenciaga gown.
