The Last of Us Showrunner Says “Maybe” They Found Abby Before the Strike

One of the biggest questions regarding HBO’s The Last of Us season 2 is who will play Abby. Gaming fans know that Abby is an important character in The Last of Us Part II, and she’s sure to get a good amount of screen time in HBO’s adaptation of the sequel. Without getting into spoiler territory, Abby is definitely the new character The Last of Us fans will be most interested in getting the news about.

In a new interview with THRThe Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin quipped that they may have already found Abby.

“Maybe,” Mazen said, laughing, when asked if he knew who would play Abe in the series.

“The hit stopped us in our tracks. Things were in the works. Look, Abby was the first role we wanted to tackle. We have a pretty solid track record of making major casting announcements and people going, ‘Really?’ That will likely continue. So people may disagree, but I think we’ve got it right so far and the public seems to feel like we got it right and the Academy seems to feel like we got it right.”

Mazin’s right that her casting choices so far have garnered great critical acclaim, with both Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey receive Emmy nominations for their performance as Joel and Ellie. Fans are waiting to see who will join Pascal and Ramsey in the cast, but with Constant hits in HollywoodIt’s not clear when advertising and production will return for The Last of Us season 2.

When we finally get to see more of Season 2, we’ll know It will adapt at least part of 2020’s The Last of Us Part 2.
