The Batman Arkham Trilogy game for Switch includes one title on game cartridge

An outside highlight of the latest Nintendo Direct earlier this week was the announcement of Batman: Arkham Trilogy coming to Switch this fall.

As exciting as it is, some new information about the physical release has now surfaced. the Switch version-specific instructions She revealed that only the hard copy would include Batman Arkham Asylum on the game card, along with the other two titles (Batman City And Batman: Arkham Knight) requires download:

Batman: Arkham Asylum will be included in the Batman: Arkham Trilogy game cartridge. Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight will require an online connection to download and install both titles when the Batman: Arkham Trilogy cartridge is inserted into a Nintendo Switch console. All three games will be playable as long as the cartridge is inserted into a Nintendo Switch console.

Considering the file size of these games on other platforms and the size of each, it’s not entirely surprising to hear this news, but it may come as a small blow to anyone who was planning to add this trilogy to their physical collection. The digital and physical versions of this release will also contain “all downloadable content” from each game.

This news follows on from an FAQ on Konami’s Metal Gear Solid site earlier this week, revealing the physical release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will also require switching users to download games and additional video content.
