Go Ape S*** On Venice Beach!!!

See monkey, ride monkey

As if the scene of Los Angeles' famous Venice Beach wasn't wild enough – now there are monkeys roaming the sand… on horseback, no less!!!

Yes, the marketing team behind “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” came up with an eye-catching way to build buzz for the movie on Monday… having a group of monkeys hop on and ride around the beach.

No, they're not real apes — Peeta will be there for all of this — but the costumed actors were pretty convincing at first glance… looking very much like a scene ripped straight from the movie's plot about apes taking over.

Fortunately, the actors didn't unleash the horses completely, opting for a slower stroll around the beach… combined with intense, menacing gazes to make their presence felt.

Despite the lack of action, Invasion of the Apes has certainly sparked chatter about the upcoming film, which is scheduled to hit US theaters on May 10.

Online audiences were fascinated by this marketing ploy, hailing it as pure genius and admitting that it got them hooked and ready to watch the film.

Directed by Wes PaulThis film is a sequel to the 2017 film “War for the Planet of the Apes”.

The only problem with this stunt is that Venice Beach is already full of outrageous sights and characters — so the monkeys on patrol may seem like just another Monday.
