According to sources, Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy S9 isn’t going to be launched anytime soon, not even at the CES 2018 scheduled in January. Early 2017 marked the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8, which means that Samsung fans are expecting the same for Galaxy S9 too.
As per latest rumors, it has been suggested that the new phone might come in a whole new color and design as the Dex docking station is supposed to redesign the S9. No massive changes are expected in the design, so the price range has been speculated to be around $725 which is similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S8.
Samsung might plan a launch in the March 2018, as a January launch seems too early. According to sources, Samsung has been working along with Qualcomm to make a new mobile chip. The chip is most likely Snapdragon 845 which is the higher version of Snapdragon 835 found in Galaxy S8. Samsung has also revealed the Exynos 9810 chip which can also be a part of the system inside Galaxy S9. The LTE modem inside the S9 is theorized to support download speeds which can be up to 1.2Gbps. Instead of a 6GB RAM, Samsung might just stick to a 4GB specification even when the S8 flaunts a 6GB RAM. The S9 might carry a Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensor which is placed just below the display made up of OLED technology. Alternatively, the fingerprint sensor could also be built into the notch located at the bottom of the screen which is similar to the generic phones by Samsung.
Samsung might also offer a totally new technique to unlock your phone with a 3D sensor front camera which means a feature similar to the Face ID system present inside the iPhone X. The phone has also been speculated to house a powerful camera that can shoot slow-motion videos at 1,000 frames per second. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus might differ in terms of camera, where the former shall have single lens camera and the latter shall flaunt a dual-lens camera.
The speakers inside the phone are rumored to be an AKG stereo speaker along with a free set of Bluetooth AKG headphones. Sources also claim that the S9 shall have a screen-to-body ratio of 90%. The S9 could also have a modular design backed by magnets that lets you attach hardware accessories similar to Motorola’s Moto Mods. The new Galaxy S9 might also come with a licensed glass coating that allows water to bounce off the smartphone screen. Fans have been speculating features like foldable display, a smaller version of the phone, fingerprint sensor under the screen, lower price for better features, dual-lens camera and many others but unless Samsung provides an official statement for the same, nothing can be confirmed as of now.
