Passive computer systems are slowly becoming a thing of the past, eclipsed by expensive chassis designs that cater to a niche market of enthusiasts. But the biggest problem is that the main computer components now require increased power, which is very high even for a large heatsink.

A Redditor named Prestigious_Gate_615 created a custom system that uses Noctua NH-P1 heatsinks and 3D printed parts. Choosing the RTX 4060 seems appropriate for this configuration, given its lower power requirements compared to other GPUs in the RTX 40 series. However, even this card requires cooling of the VRM and memory, a task accomplished in this case using copper heatsinks .

However, the power of both the GPU and CPU had to be adjusted. The GPU's TDP has been reduced from 115W to 90W, resulting in temperatures reaching 80 to 85°C under load. The CPU, along with an octa-core Ryzen 7 7700X processor, runs in 88W Eco mode and reaches the thermal limit of 95°C. The system is based on the MSI B650I Edge Mini-ITX motherboard, which features a total of 64GB of G.Skill Flare

Both the GPU and CPU are connected to NH-P1 coolers. The CPU installation process was relatively straightforward, while the GPU required a custom-designed chip. For those curious, the author has shared the 3D model, enabling others to easily replicate a similar system.
