US imposes new economic sanctions on Russians alleged to be girlfriends of President Putin. Alina Kabaeva’s entry permit has been suspended. Other Putin confidants were also admitted.
Following Britain and the European Union, the United States has imposed sanctions on an alleged associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The US Treasury Department said it has added former gymnast Alina Kabaeva to its sanctions list. Your access has been suspended. There are also prohibitions against their possession.
The 39-year-old – once a member of the Russian State Duma – has a “close relationship with Putin” and is the current boss of the Kremlin-friendly media empire, the National Media Group. Prohibitions against oligarchies

Yellen: “Putin’s cronies enriched themselves”
“While innocent people suffer from Russia’s illegal war of aggression, Putin’s allies enrich themselves,” US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a statement.
Western countries have imposed severe economic sanctions on Russia in condemnation of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. They also targeted oligarchs close to Putin. In April, the United States granted permission to Putin’s adult daughters, Katerina Vladimirovna Tikhonova and Maria Vladimirovna Vorontsova.
