Game preview
SOG: LAK – 27 SJS – 17
PP: LAK – 1/5 SJS – 2/4

third period
20:00 – The third inning is to go, with the kings advantage over the man to start the frame.
18:35 – The Kings will have their third chance in the power game, and Hertle is seated high.
17:33 – LAK GOAL – POWERFUL PLAY GOAL! Byfield feeds low to Vilardi, who hits Grundstrom up front to score. Top shelf at the end for 91, 2-1 game.
14:00 – guys look a little better here in third place. The puck’s movement was more fragile, as was the offensive play of the area.
10:57 – The third delay in the game for a pane of glass has been moved. Prep is here on the premises as well and Reign had new glazing installed in the Offseason. We will be back soon!
8:05 – Big Wheels Trevor Moore, who ran faster off the left wing, turned his attacker and fired at the net from a relatively tight angle, Dell parried in the shoulder.
3:24 – Drama! The Kings will have the power play appearance with 3:24 left here in the system, trailing 2-1.
1:41 – Vilalta is on the bench for the extra striker.
1:27 – SJ target – net empty, full length ice.

second period
20:00 – back in a second!
16:05 – Helenius sat down to proofread, wiping the crease in front of Villalta. Sharks to play the second salad in the evening.
14:05 – good killing of kings. Moore and Danault led a 2-in-1 dash, but the disc bobbed on Moore’s stick and his shot went off the wheel.
11:00 – Velardi now skates with Moore and Danault on the second line. The Kings have said from the start that multiple players will be tried there, and both 13 and 68 have done bouts there this evening.
9:33 – A pair of strange men flock to get to San Jose before the media timeout expires. Hertl/Meier on the ice moved the disc well, but neither situation led to a real scoring opportunity. The Kings were a bit disjointed, although to be expected in pre-season.
9:14 – Doty was given five minutes and game misconduct to interfere. The Kings will head for a five-minute penalty midway through the second.
7:12 – San Jose extends their lead to two with their second goal in power play of the evening. Evgeny Svechnikov is alone in the lead and beats Vilalta on the side of the stick.
4:14 – The Kings completed the penalty kick with only one goal. A good couple stopped by Villalta, a couple rushed the other way shorting as Danault and Byfield showed off a good blast out of the area. The Kings will be looking to regroup for the last 24 minutes here, hopefully in 5-on-5.
0:55 – Fagemo took a cool look away from the dash, but found the glass out of the hatch. Now Grundstrom converts a penalty late in the second as he quickly leads the net. Kings to late PP, 54.4 clock.
0:00 – The Sharks lead 2-0 in the second half. The Kings will have just over a minute to the man advantage when we start third.

The first period
20:00 – We are now in Ontario!
15:36 – Great look between Byfield and Kaliyev tightly. The former made a fine pass to Kaliev just outside the tuck, with Dell providing the best chance in the first five minutes of the game.
14:15 – San Jose heads into the game’s first strength game, with Samuel Helenius sitting for his elbow. Sharks have a few regulars in this unit, including Hertl and Meier.
14:06 – SJ goal – Early in the PP, the sharks turned. A stampede in front sends the puck to Bordeleau at the back post, where he scores the first goal of the match.
13:03 – The Kings will have their turn in a power game while Raska sits down with the sharks. Dotti-Kaliev-Danault-Moore-Yavalu compose the upper unit.
11:03 – A ton does not work in either unit. The second unit tonight has Clark with Velardi, Fajimo, Grundstrom and Bifield.
6:16 – Big shift between streak changes with Byfield centering for Grundstrom and Vilardi. Grundstrom’s wrap went straight through the crease, while Velardi’s shot from an acute angle was blocked.
5:07 – Jacob Doty hits someone so hard that he sends a pane of glass through the supports into the crowd. Due to the delay, the teams will head to the locker room and will add time at the start of the second.
0:00 – Sharks 1, Kings 0 at the end of 20 minutes of play. Teams will quickly regroup and take down the face-clearing in the center of the ice to start the second.
