Paramore slams Tennessee Republican Party after Alison Russell's Grammy controversy

Paramore rejected Tennessee's decision to celebrate the band for their recent Grammy win after the state's GOP-led House of Representatives snubbed fellow winner Allison Russell.

Earlier this week, the Tennessee House of Representatives considered ceremonial resolutions honoring Paramore, an all-white band that won Grammy Awards for best rock album and best alternative music performance, and Russell, a black country singer who won her first Grammy for best American roots rock. performance. In a joint statement with tn On Friday, Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams wrote, “For those who don't know, Alison Russell is an incredibly talented musician and songwriter. Additionally, Paramore posted on the band's Instagram Story, “Paramor will not accept any recognition or honors from TN House until Alison Russell receives the same recognition.”
