Most PlayStation fans stopped buying the Red Dead Redemption PS4 port at launch

To say that the Red Dead Redemption PS4 announcement didn’t go well would be an understatement at this point. Announced earlier in the week following months of rumors and speculation regarding either a full remake or a more than welcome rehash, fans were torn apart by the reveal of a no-frills port. At $50, it’s really not surprising to see people give Rockstar grief – especially after the failure of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy.

In order to get a better read on the situation, we published a survey a couple of days ago, asking readers if they plan to buy Red Dead Redemption on PS4. The results of this poll are now out, and it’s a bloodbath.

Over 4,400 of you voted, with a whopping 50% simply saying “there’s no chance” of buying. Another 14% said buying the port would be “unlikely”, while 21% said they would maybe Pick it up for sale down the line.

Only 4% say they will be there on the first day, while 5% say they will probably buy it at some point. The last 6% went with “Maybe, but only if you get major updates after release.”

Now, obviously, those of you who hesitate Push the box The trend is likely to be on the more hardcore side of PlayStation – which means that Red Dead Redemption will likely sell well on brand strength alone.

But still, it’s clear that die-hard fans are very disappointed in what appears to be a stripped-down port of a beloved game.
