Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo fighters announced along with the main roster

Mortal Kombat 1 was announced by Warner Bros and NetherRealm Studios yesterday, and the good news is that it’s launching for Nintendo Switch. September 19, 2023.

The brutal and bloody trailer helped set the scene for this new era in the popular fighting series, however There are also questions and answers on the game’s official website Revealing another interesting detail – the Cameo Fighters.

According to the description, these new fighters are partner characters who will assist them during matches, and they look similar to what has been featured in some other fighting games in the past:

“Kameo Fighters is a unique roster of partner characters to assist during matches, creating expanded gameplay possibilities for players. These characters are selected separately from the main roster of fighters.”

Unfortunately, we don’t know Kameo Fighter’s menu yet, but as noted, help characters will be “selected separately” from the main menu. As for the main roster, fans can expect reimagined versions of some of their favorite fighters:

“Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many more.”

In regards to the game modes in Mortal Kombat 1, players can expect the return of NetherRealm’s “genre-defining” story mode and more information on the online and offline modes will be revealed soon. Another important detail is the confirmation that MK1 will have a net fallback code to support online play.
