McDonald’s adds a new pie, McFlurry
Over the years, McDonald’s has kept its dessert menu highly focused. It offers basic apple pie, ice cream cones, shakes, a very basic sundae, and of course McFlurry. The chain has tried different pie flavors on rare occasions, and it does the seasonal Shamrock Shake around St.

Why is McDonald’s candy important?
Once McDonald’s (or any chain for that matter) gets a customer through their doors, they want to get them to spend as much money as possible. Realistically, most customers wouldn’t order a sandwich or multiple orders of fries. This means that toppings for meals like shakes, waffles and McFlurries can increase the size of your check and potentially increase the margins of the fast food giant.
Ice cream, at least the soft version of it, has a very low cost. Even adding a few mixes would likely leave McDonald’s getting a higher margin for a hamburger. Adding a flavor like Creme brulee, which is exotic and familiar, gives chain customers an excuse to be a little indulgent, spend more money, and try something new.
