Terrible knife attack in Lisbon!

A man killed two women at a Muslim center in the Portuguese capital. In addition to the two deaths, one is said to be seriously injured and one is slightly injured.

Police are treating it as a terrorist attack. He confirmed this to a German press agency.

Portuguese newspaper “Express” The attacker was identified as a 40-year-old Afghan man. The newspaper quoted an anonymous source as saying the man was carrying a “very large” knife.

Police officers shot the assailant and put him out of action. He was later taken to hospital where he is currently undergoing surgery on his lower limbs. The deceased are two women aged 20 and 40, the police said.

Prime Minister Antonio Costa, 61, described the attack as a “criminal act”: “Everything points to this being an isolated case,” he said, without elaborating. Officers from Special Forces PSP and Anti-Terrorism Squad PJ are currently at the centre.

Costa praised the “quick intervention of the PSP” and explained that at this stage it was “premature to make any interpretations about the motives behind this criminal act”.
