Throw legacy. James Gunn has revealed that his new Superman movie will simply be called Superman“When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the movie Superman: Legacy,” he wrote in a post celebrating the first day of filming. By the time I closed the final draft, it was clear that the title was Superman. We make our way to you July 2025.”
Alongside the post, he shared a photo of the Superman logo from the film, which was previously titled Superman: Legacy. The snow dust on the logo references a scene set in the Fortress of Solitude, Superman's fortress in the North Pole.
SupermanOf course, it was the title of the influential 1978 film starring Christopher Reeve and directed by Richard Donner. (Although it was also known as Superman: The Movie.)
David Corenswet plays Clark Kent/Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan plays the role Daily Planet Journalist Lois Lane. The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult as classic villain Lex Luthor. The film was previously titled Superman: Legacy.
