Kylian Mbappe tells his Paris Saint-Germain teammates of his decision to leave in a speech before training

Kylian Mbappe informed his Paris Saint-Germain teammates on Friday that he has decided to leave the club this summer.

Mbappe, 25, informed the club on Thursday of his decision to leave at the end of his contract in June.

During the speech, the France international had not, at that stage, revealed to his teammates which club he planned to join once he left the Parc des Princes.

Mbappé informed several of his close friends in the Paris Saint-Germain dressing room last summer of his intention to join Real Madrid, although this was met with skepticism due to the striker's previous references to joining the Spanish club only to remain in France.

Mbappe joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco, initially on loan, in 2017 and cemented his status as one of the best players in the world during his time at the club.

The striker scored 243 goals in 290 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, winning 13 trophies at the club including five Ligue 1 titles – and helping them reach the Champions League final in 2020, when they lost to Bayern Munich.
