Knockout City will start playing for free, and Velan Studios will replace EA as the game publisher

Some changes are coming to Knockout City – With developer Velan Studios announcing that the game will be lowering the “completely price tag” and will start playing for free from Season 6.

In the same announcement, the studio also revealed how it will take on EA’s responsibilities as the game’s publisher under this new model. Phelan also took the opportunity to thank EA Originals for their support and for bringing the game to the world.

Phelan believes that taking on publishing responsibilities will allow her to work more closely with the game community and “fully realize” her vision for the game in the long-term:

“We couldn’t have brought Knockout City to the world without the amazing support from EA Originals, but now as we move to free-to-play the next natural step is for us to take on publishing responsibilities and work closely with our community. We have exciting plans for Knockout City, and bringing publishing in-house will allow us to fully realizing our vision for the long-term future of this game.”

The team will be sharing more about Knockout City’s transition to F2P over the coming days, weeks, and months. How do you feel about this ad? Will you try this game now that it’s free? Leave a comment below.
