Although Street Fighter 6 had just seen its first major balance patch when Akuma was released late last month, the game is already gearing up for another update here in a couple of weeks. M. Bison, the first official character of Season 2, will be added to the game on June 26, and while we’re not sure if the update that brought him to the mix will come with more balance changes, it looks like it will contain some new improvements to the game.

Following the reveal of Bison’s big trailer and Season 2 lineup announcement at Summer Game Fest, some content creators were given the chance to experience the upcoming fighter for themselves. With some new screenshots out there now, we’ve noticed that there are some UI changes that haven’t been officially announced yet, but appear to be part of the upcoming M. Bison update.

Fighting game legend Justin Wong recently went public His gameplay footage and impressions of M. Bison In Street Fighter 6 Season 2. Some viewers on Twitter noticed that his video included some never-before-seen UI changes that were not present in the current version of the game.

Specifically, both the health bars and driving meter will see some improvements, which He should Eventually it is included in the Bison update.

First, there is a slight change in the driving meter when the player is in a fatigued state. Traditionally, a player’s drive meter appears completely empty when in a fatigued state, and we see a light gray bar fill up to signify the meter is restored over time.

In the M. Bison update, there is now a dark gray scale occupying the space within the bar where the scale has not yet been refilled. This appears to be a quality of life change that makes it easier for players and spectators to know how much meter a player with exhaustion needs to recover before they come out of exhaustion.

In keeping with the idea of making things easier to see, health bars also undergo a change specifically when critical art is locked and loaded. In Justin Wong’s M. Bison footage, we also see that when the player is equipped with the crit art, their health bar emits a glow.

We’ve included a comparison shot below so you can see the exact look compared to the current version of the game. Like changing the exhaustion, this should make it easier for everyone to know when to save crit art, and instead of having to look at the opponent’s meter and health, you should be able to quickly glance at the health bar and be good to go.

At this time, Capcom has not officially stated or announced that these changes exist, or that they will be included in the M. Bison update. However, since we’re seeing them in the version of Bison being offered to content creators, it’s very likely that these changes will not only be included in the next update, but should also be mentioned in the next set of patch notes.
