The Hamas leader responded coldly – according to the Israeli army, the sons are terrorists

The Israeli armed forces also confirm that three of Hanija's sons were killed. Accordingly, they belonged to the armed wing of Hamas and were therefore terrorists. During the broadcast, the Hamas leader was even asked if the broadcast should be cancelled. He replies: “No, why? Let's continue.”

The three sons are said to be Hasim, Amir and Muhammad Hanijah. According to the Israeli military, the three were on their way “to carry out terrorist activities in the heart of the Gaza Strip”. T-Online Quoted. Haniya contradicted this account by saying that her sons and grandchildren were visiting al-Shaadi refugee camp to celebrate breaking the fast. Haniya is the diplomatic face of Hamas internationally and operates from Qatar. The 61-year-old added in a statement: “The blood of my sons is not worth more than the blood of our people.”

The war in Gaza continues: at least 34,000 dead since October 7

After seven months of war in Israel, the Gaza Strip has been virtually leveled. Relentless airstrikes ravage cities and ground forces are tasked with finding the last Hamas leaders and terrorists. The densely populated Gaza Strip has long been used by Hamas against Israeli airstrikes. Hamas command centers are established in civilian facilities such as hospitals, making it as difficult as possible for Israel to take action against Hamas without causing civilian casualties.

However, since the October 7 terrorist attacks, the Israeli military and leadership have taken significantly more offensive actions against the terrorist group Hamas. Overall, the death toll in Gaza is nearly 34,000, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health. Most of them are children and teenagers. In recent weeks, Israel has been repeatedly criticized internationally for its actions against Palestinians.

And the military action in Gaza and protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are also increasing in Israel. Even the US is pushing for a new round of talks between Israel and Hamas to allow civilians from northern Gaza to return to their homes. Handelsblatt reported. (SiSchr)
