‘House of the Dragon’ had a green screen goof in episode 3

  • “House of the Dragon” forgot to modify the green screen around the character’s fingers.
  • King Viserys—who had amputated two fingers in the show—was wearing the green screen cloth on his hand in Episode III as he delivered a note to a messenger.
  • This isn’t the first goof edit by the “Thrones” franchise. In 2019, a cup of Starbucks coffee made it to the last part of the episode.

He called it “greenscale”.

The “House of the Dragon” spin-off from “Game of Thrones” has joined the series’ tradition of visual goofs after the unedited green screen on one of the characters’ fingers turned into Episode Three.

In the premiere of the franchise’s Introduction series, King Viserys (Paddy Considine) cut his finger on the Iron Throne. When the wound refused to heal, his pinky and ring fingers were amputated.

But in the third episode, the supposedly lost king’s two fingers can be seen wrapped in a green screen on his left hand as he gives a note to a messenger.

The note is meant to be sent to the King’s brother, Demon, who is played by Matt Smith.

As of Wednesday morning, Green Fingers had not been released from the scene.

This isn’t the first time editorial errors have crept into HBO’s huge success.

During the final season of “Game of Thrones” in 2019, a modern cup of coffee is seen resting on a dining table.

In response, HBO said at the time, “In response to inquiries from those who watched a cup of craft service coffee on Sunday night’s episode of Game of Thrones: The latte featured in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered herbal tea.”
