Kayne West received less than 70,000 votes in the last US presidential election. Apparently that doesn’t stop the rapper from trying again. On Twitter he hints at a 2024 candidacy. Kanye also has clear opinions about the vice president.
Rapper and fashion designer Kanye West has said he wants to run again in the 2024 US presidential election, with former President Donald Trump as his running mate. The artist, who works under the name “Ye”, first posted an image on Twitter with the word “Ye” and the number “2024”. He later released a video in which he talks about the potential candidate.
In the video, West talks about his recent meeting with Trump in the US state of Florida. “I think what really upset Trump was when I asked him to be my vice president,” the rapper says. Trump yelled at him and predicted defeat. “Wait a minute Trump, you’re talking to E,” West continues. The musician already contested the presidential election in 2020, but received less than 70,000 votes.
Trump recently announced his re-election bid for the 2024 presidential election. The former president’s office has yet to respond to inquiries about the rapper’s comments. Two days ago, West said he would meet with Trump at his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
It is not yet clear whether West is seriously aiming for a nomination or just seeking public attention. The musician has recently caused outrage, particularly with controversial actions and anti-Semitic statements.
