Sources say Hollywood Reporter The new version of NBC's beloved comedy Steve Carell has cast its first two members of the comedy ensemble with Sabrina Impacciatore (White lotus(and Domhnall Gleeson)Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) becoming the first two to join the cast of the potential series.
Representatives of Universal Television, which produces the updated version from creators Greg Daniels and Michael Corman (Nathan for you), declined to comment because details surrounding the project remain closely guarded. The platform for the project has not been decided yet, with the source saying that Daniels and the studio want to make sure the shot is authentic before setting it up for network/streaming. Details regarding the roles Impacciatore and Gleeson play are being kept under wraps due to the huge expectations that come with anything associated with this new incarnation of the desk Although sources say Daniels and Corman have been casting a wide net to find available talent for the latter half of this year.
like THR Previously mentioned, the desk Creator Greg Daniels opened a development room in early January to explore a new series that would be set in the same universe as the previous NBC hit (itself a spinoff of the British comedy Ricky Gervais). Daniels recently hired Corman to co-create the project, which the prolific writer/producer sees as a reboot of his 2005 mockumentary.
Impacciatore received an Emmy Award nomination as Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the second season of the HBO series White lotus Like Valentina, the manager of the Sicilian Hotel. Her credits include Call my agent She next stars in Julian Schnabel's film In Dante's hand, Opposite Oscar Isaac and Gal Gadot. She's repped by Gersh, MGMT, and Gianni Schiffi.
Meanwhile, Gleeson recently wrapped filming on the FX limited series the patient, Reverse the desk Star Carell. He can currently be seen on PBS Alice and Jack Opposite Andrea Riseborough. His credits include David Mandel's HBO limited series white house plumbers, HBO channels Being Beside Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, The Last Jedi And The force awakens. Next has the Apple advantage echo valley, Opposite Julianne Moore, Sidney Sweeney and the announcer fountain of youth, Versus another ex office Stars John Krasinski and Natalie Portman. The new take on the desk This comes at a busy time for Daniels, who recently scored a final season renewal for his Amazon comedy series to lift. The prolific creator and producer is also back to team up with Mike Judge on a new season of the beloved animated comedy King of the hill For Hulu. Together, the duo also owns a very successful anime company with multiple series across a large number of streaming devices.
