Documentary on Harry and Meghan – LIVE: Conflicting reports if the royal family has been asked to comment on the Netflix series

Key moments from Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary

No palace officials or members of the royal family have been contacted for comment on the content of the new Netflix documentary series about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it has been claimed.

It was suggested that representatives of Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace, as well as members of the royal family themselves, were not given the opportunity to respond to accusations leveled by the couple during the first three episodes of their highly anticipated series.

That accusation is now being challenged by reports that both palaces were contacted, but only via email from an unknown organization claiming to be a third-party production company.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s documentary began streaming Thursday, with Harry accusing the royals of having a “huge level of unconscious bias” and Meghan saying the media wants to “destroy” them.

In the first of the six-part show, Meghan also claimed that “salacious stories” had been “planted” in the lead-up to their wedding, with the couple “playing whack-a-mole” as the articles appeared.

A high-ranking source in the royal family responded to the written statement of “Members of the royal family refusing to comment on the content of this series,” which appeared on a black screen at the beginning of the first episode.

The second season of the Harry and Meghan docu-series will begin airing on December 15.
