He visits his grandparents and then disappears without a trace. A two-year-old boy has been missing since Saturday in France.

Updated as of July 13, 5:25 am: The French police no longer send out search parties for little Emile. A search operation in the foothills of the Alps failed to solve the mystery of his disappearance, and now it is over, says public prosecutor Remy Avon. The two-year-old was found last Saturday in the hamlet of Haute-Vernet. Since then, dozens of soldiers and gendarmes have annexed twelve hectares of land, 30 buildings and twelve vehicles.

However, Avion says authorities have examined a “substantial amount of information and elements” over the past four days. The investigation into the missing persons continues.

On Tuesday, prosecutors warned that the two-year-old’s life was “in very serious danger” after the 48-hour period, given the child’s young age and current extreme heat of up to 35 degrees. Emile’s uncertain fate keeps the entire country in suspense. The young child stayed with her grandparents.

In the small town of Le Vernet in southern France, there is nothing but the testimony of two witnesses who saw the boy walking down a street. The lawyer insisted that even a small search would continue. Initially, there was no evidence of kidnapping or murder.

Disappearance without trace: French police release photo of two-year-old – parents “concerned”
