CBS sets 2024 premiere dates for postponed scripted series – Deadline

CBS became the first broadcast network to unveil a post-strike midseason schedule featuring all returnees and two new scripted series whose production was delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The announcement comes five days after the end of the SAG-AFTRA hiatus. Since then, the network and studios have been solidifying plans to return to production.

The show begins immediately after the Super Bowl airs on CBS on February 11 with the premiere of the new drama Tracker. As Deadline reported last week, the drama starring Justin Hartley is among the first scripted series scheduled to begin production after Thanksgiving to be able to make its high-profile launch, which was announced in May.

All CBS scripted series, incl FBI And NCIS privileges, Young Sheldon And Neighborhood, They will begin their new seasons the week of February 12th. As Deadline reported, seasons affected by the strike will consist of 10 to 13 episodes spanning from February to May, which is also the case at CBS. For example, Neighborhood And CSI: Vegas You will do 10 episodes, FBI13. There are a couple of exceptions, including the popular CBS comedy Young Sheldonwhich will air 14 or 15 episodes (still TBD).

CBS’ midseason schedule — which will be syndicated during the Super Bowl as well as the NFL Playoff games in January and the Grammys on Feb. 4 — closely resembles the network’s original fall lineup announced in May that did not take into account the impact of a potential hit. The main difference is Tracker Replace the new drama classmate Matlock Starring Kathy Bates on Sunday. (Matlock It was supposed to air at 8 p.m., Tracker It will air at 9 p.m., next Eqwhich will retain its Sunday 8 p.m. berth.)

Of the four new series picked up by CBS for 2023-2024, two, Tracker And the good Wife branch Elspethlaunching this season.

To accommodate extended setup/pre-production time, Elspeth It will debut two weeks after the rest of CBS’ scripted lineup.
