Boat accident: 49 students drown in Pakistan

51 people, including 49 children, died in a boat accident in Pakistan. While the students were on a picnic in a Koran school, the boat suddenly capsized.

“Every time they see a victim, they rush to the divers to see if it’s their son, and every time we hear them screaming in pain and agony,” he told AFP by phone. He had never seen such scenes in his life. According to police spokesperson Fazal Naeem, only 20 to 25 people are allowed on board.

Danda Lake is five kilometers from the madrasa in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Shipwrecks are frequent in Pakistan. Many boats are sick and carrying more passengers than allowed. Also, many people in the country do not know how to swim.
