Billie Eilish said she didn’t really believe in the concept of coming out during a Variety interview

Billie Eilish has asked people to stop discussing her sex life, as she accused a magazine of “exposing” her.

The Bad Guy singer indicated that she is attracted to women in a recent interview on the cover of US magazine Variety.

At the magazine’s Hitmakers Awards over the weekend, Billie was asked on camera if she was planning on coming out.

Billie has since sarcastically thanked Variety for “exposing” her “instead of talking about anything else important.”

BBC Newsbeat has contacted the publisher for comment.

“Thank you to Variety for my award and also for showing up on the red carpet at 11am instead of talking to me about anything else important,” she wrote.

“I like boys and girls to leave me alone please literally who cares.”

in magazine interview, First published on November 13, Billie discusses being a young woman in the public eye and how she felt bullied by other females.

“I never felt like I could relate to girls that well,” the 21-year-old told Variety.

“I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real.”

But she also said she doesn’t really believe in the concept of “coming out” and the idea that people should disclose their sexual orientation.

“Why can’t we exist?” she said. “I’ve been doing this for a long time and haven’t talked about it.”

Billie, along with her brother and collaborator Finneas, accepted the award for Song of the Year for What Barbie Was Made For.
