Apple’s homepage is adding an interactive “Eraser” teaser ahead of tomorrow’s iPad event

Apple.com home page It’s been updated with a last-minute teaser to celebrate Apple’s upcoming event, which starts tomorrow at 7 a.m. PT. Apple is expected to announce a new lineup of… iPad Pro And iPad Air.

The new teaser at the top of the page cycles through various illustrations of the Apple logo, with a touch where you can scan the graphic with your mouse cursor on a Mac, or your finger on an iPhone’s touchscreen. When the logo is completely erased, a new variant appears.

The latest teaser is another nod to the fact that we’re also expecting new generations of the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard, to coincide with the new iPads.

The new Magic Pencil is expected to add a new tap gesture that may help users access the eraser function in their drawing app more quickly. The pressing gesture is believed to be accompanied by haptic feedback to confirm the action.

The new Magic Keyboard will feature a new design based on aluminum chassis materials, with a larger trackpad to make it more laptop-like. It is currently unclear whether the new keyboard will only be compatible with the new iPad Pro, or whether it will also work with the Air.

The new iPad Pro lineup will feature the same display in two screen sizes, but the tablets will now feature new OLED display technology for richer contrast and greater brightness. The new models are believed to be powered by the next generation Apple Silicon M4. The neural engine in the M4 is expected to be significantly upgraded to be better for AI workloads.

The overall industrial chassis design of the new iPad Pro is also believed to have been updated, with an overall thinner body. The front camera may also move to the natural edge for the first time.

The new iPad Air is expected to be less dramatic, with a more noticeable update to the M2 chip. Updates for other iPad models are not expected to be part of tomorrow’s proceedings, although they are scheduled to arrive later in 2024.
