At the end of each hour, the hosts take shots of alcohol to celebrate the New Year; Two years ago, Cohen and Cooper became noticeably drunk, especially Cohen, who slandered Ryan Seacrest on air while the latter was hosting the ABC show. Dick Clark's New Year's Eve.

“If you look behind me, you'll see Ryan Seacrest's group of losers performing,” Cohen said in the December 2021 special. “I'm sorry, but if you're watching ABC, you're not watching anything.” Cohen later apologized on his SiriuxXM radio show.

But then last year, Seacrest claimed Live with Kelly and Ryan that Cohen “did not turn around and wave” at Seacrest when the latter waved to the CNN hosts during a taping of their specials in December 2022. Cohen later said that he was not aware of the exchange and during the taping of their specials, Cohen went on Seacrest's radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest Air purifier.

This year, Cohen wants to make sure there are no misunderstandings between him and Seacrest.

After taking a shot of alcohol at the top of the 9 p.m. ET hour, Cohen said, “I just want to point out that I made a big effort. We waved at Seacrest. He saw us waving so he couldn't walk around saying I cursed at him.”

“Don't start it. Don't even mention it,” Cooper said.

“I'm not going to start it,” Cohen replied. I just keep it really clean. We waved. The connection has been made.”

Cooper noted that some kind words were thrown Seacrest's way.

“We complimented him on his clothes,” he said. It looked great. “He's wearing a very nice suit.”

Cooper then added: “This is Andy stirring the pot.”

“Not really,” Cohen replied. Just keep it clean. I'm going to keep my side of the street clean this year.

A few moments later, Cohen actually threw another diss at another celebrity.

That happened when Cohen and Cooper welcomed actress Bridget Everett (HBO's Someone somewhere), who performed One Direction's “You Don't Know You're Beautiful” a cappella alongside the hosts.

Cohen praised Everett's ability to perform the song live in the middle of Times Square while some “God's awful song” was playing in the background.

“I have to give it up to Bridget because the minute she started singing, there was a terrible song playing there, and she sang — it's very difficult to sing while another song is playing. It was big,” Cohen said.

Which song was playing? Olivia Rodrigo “The Vampire”.
