Young Japanese need to drink more
This action is really a crazy idea…
The Japanese government wants young people to drink more. Yes, you are right. Because they drink less than their parents and are driving out the alcohol market. To change that, the National Tax Agency created the “Viva Sake” competition BBC reported. There, people between the ages of 20 and 39 can suggest ideas about bringing Japanese people to the mirror.
Basically a campaign for more camboy (Cheers in Japanese)!
And of course more tax revenue. That’s because, according to data from tax authorities, a person in Japan drinks only 75 liters of alcohol per year – a quarter less than 25 years ago. According to the “Japan Times”, the share of alcohol tax in the treasury has shrunk from five percent to 1.7 percent.
The reasons for the reluctance of Japanese people to drink lie in the corona epidemic and an aging population – at least according to the consulting firm “Basona Nondai”, which organizes the campaign for tax authorities.
Japanese youth have until September 9 to submit ideas. According to the BBC, some users have suggested that famous actresses host virtual parties. Others have criticized the tax agency for encouraging unhealthy lifestyles.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Health announced that the campaign advocates responsible use of alcohol…
