He declared suicide in his diary

Investigating lawyer Frédéric Nahon told a press conference in Epinal that Lucas had mentioned in his diary that he wanted to take his own life.

When questioned, his family reported taunts and insults of a homophobic nature from students at his high school.

“The preliminary investigation that started on Wednesday will focus on verifying the direct link between these facts and the suicide of the young woman,” said lawyer Nahon.

Lucas’ mother addressed the ongoing homophobia against her son at Parents’ Evening.

However, Lucas later indicated that things had been resolved, according to the school. At the second parent-teacher meeting at the end of the year, the mother and Lucas made it clear that the situation had improved and that Lucas was fine.

Money was raised online for Lucas’ funeral. “Our little angel has left us,” it says Crowdfunding-Platform. Lucas was buried last weekend, and 7,500 euros were donated.
