LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The brown fedora worn by actor Harrison Ford in the second Indiana Jones movie sold for $630,000 at auction, movie and television memorabilia company PropStore said on Friday.

The hat, which appeared in the 1984 film “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” was expected to sell for between $250,000 and $500,000, according to an online description of the item.

This hat comes from the personal collection of the late, accomplished actor Dean Ferrandini, who also wore it while standing next to Ford as Jones, the handsome archaeologist who really hates snakes.

Keeping the hat in place during filming was a “constant challenge,” the Propstore expert said in the online description, and pieces of foam were inserted to make it fit better.

Made by the Herbert Johnson Hat Company of London, it is made from black rabbit felt.

Other items sold included a white Imperial scout trooper helmet from the 1983 film “Return of the Jedi,” which sold for $315,000, and a ghost costume worn by the stars of the 1996 film “Scream,” which sold for $270,900.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom also stars Kate Capshaw as nightclub singer Willie Scott and Kee Hui Quan as Short Round.
